A new pioneer tool kit that stows inside the vehicle is now available as an accessory. The design and relocation of the exhaust system on 1994 vehicles requires in-vehicle stowage of the kit. This pioneer tool kit contains a multipurpose ax. On the back of the ax head is a socket to attach one of the 5 steel attachments to make a shovel, a mattock, a sharp pick, a broad pick, and a reversible rake and hoe. A leather sheath covers the blade when the ax is not in use. This kit also comes with safety and assembly instructions.

Do I have a Hummer H1 or Military Humvee? Does it really matter...

Answer: YES

While some parts will fit either chassis there are certain unique parts and if you incorrectly interchange them THEY WILL NOT FIT. (pause and re-read that again)

The key difference, and it makes the whole experience better in buying and owning your vehicle, starts with the VIN or SERIAL Number. KNOW WHAT YOU OWN. You do NOT own a 1989 Hummer H1...you own a 1989 Humvee. You do NOT own a 2004 M1123 Hummer H1..you own a 2004 M1123 Humvee. So knowing you have a 1996 Humvee or 1996 Hummer H1 you can now properly get the correct fan clutch (because there are 4 clutch options)...get it?

Hummer H1: Vin starts with 137# (#= D, F, L, P, X, Y OR Z ) Total of 17 digits. Example 137YA8338TE123456. Vin is located on the windshield frame, frame rail and door frame. This vehicle was DOT certified/crash tested, is ONLY 12V and meant for the highway/offroad.

Military Humvee: Serial numbers are 6 numeric digits located on the driver door data plate, next to the body style tag MXXXX. (Example: 125611, M998). Unless you are armed forces this is a military surplus vehicle, is ONLY 24V from the factory and meant for battle.
